It’s spring break time!
The task oriented women wants me to stay at home spring cleaning the whole house but my inner child wants to go outside to play.
What to do? What to do?
My friend and I were discussing this dilemma the other day and what I decided was to come up with a list of five things I wanted to accomplish at home and five things I wanted to enjoy with my son and friends.
Sometimes our expectations of ourselves and our home are just a little bit over the top. We really need to put things in perspective and learn to live in the reality of life. But, what does that mean?
It means letting the baseboard collect dust so, you can play games with your kids.
It means picking one thing to clean before a party instead of scrubbing your whole house the day before a family gathering.
It means packing a lunch and heading outside to enjoy life.
I know in my heart of hearts my son will not remember how clean our house was but, he will hopefully remember our movie dates and the time we went to the Donut Bar and enjoyed time with friends. My son will hopefully want to come home because it is a place he can relax and be himself.
When was the last time you went outside to play?
What was your favorite thing to play as a kid?
Take some time this week to play and have fun!
I promise you will not regret the dishes sitting in the sink or the messy closet after a fun day of playing with your family and friends.
What are you waiting for?!
Go PLAY!!!!
